EXPERIENCE
THE SPORTS NETWORK (TSN), TORONTO 

Jan. 2002 - pres. Editorial Assistant

  • Won B.E.S.T. Scholarship in recognition of academic performance, writing skill, broadcasting experience, sports knowledge, and service to community. 
  • Was offered permanent position as VTR operator, but declined in order to return to Western Canada, where I lived since birth, except during tenure at TSN. 
  • Archived NHL footage that was aired on That's Hockey. 
  • Produced 20 highlight packs that aired on SportsCentre. 
  • Manipulated teleprompter for live-to-air and taped segments. 
  • Note: this position was an internship.
RWD PRODUCTIONS, CALGARY 

Oct. - Nov. 2002 Staff Person (PT) 

  • For curling bonspiel that aired on Women's Television Sports Network, helped to: 
    • Set up lighting and audio equipment. 
    • Assist cameraperson.
1996-2002 Held wide variety of positions, including Bobcat Operator (construction equipment),
Delivery Person, Landscaper, Photo/Electronics Retail Clerk, Salesperson for such employers as Real Canadian Superstore, Zellers Canada and Leon's Furniture.

    • Received "A" in production (television/radio) and writing (television) courses. 
    • Technical producer for team nominated as finalist in "best radio production" competition, sponsored by CRTC. Selected in recognition of excellence in live-to-air coverage of Alberta provincial elections, CMRC cable radio. 
    • Technical producer, audio person and camera person for coverage of Calgary civic elections, CMRC-TV (unlicensed). 
    • Member, broadcasting students' floor-hockey team, playoff semi-finalists.
  • Completed 3 chemistry courses.
